An outer ear infection of the ear canal, commonly called swimmers ear with drainage and swelling of the ear canal. Both are very common in children. Symptoms include ear pain, fussiness, trouble hearing, drainage from the ear (if swimmer\u2019s ear) and sometimes fever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Common treatment: <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We evaluate the ear with visual examination and\/or binocular microscopy if appropriate. Removal of debris, wax, and\/or drainage will be completed if needed to visualize the eardrum.
