Flu/Strep/RSV/COVID

What it is:

These are all contagious infections that can cause overlapping symptoms like fever, body aches, sore throat, cough, and fatigue.

Common treatment:

We will do a rapid swab test in the office to determine which one you have.

• Flu: Antiviral medication (like Tamiflu) if caught early; rest and fluids.
• Strep: Antibiotics are required to clear the bacterial infection.
• RSV: Supportive care (fluids, rest, fever management); most cases resolve on their own.
• COVID: Antiviral medication (like Paxlovid) for eligible patients; rest and symptom management.
