What it is:

Your ears naturally produce wax to protect and clean the ear canal. Sometimes wax builds up and hardens, blocking the canal and causing reduced hearing, a feeling of fullness, ringing, or discomfort.

Common treatment:

We evaluate the ear with visual examination and/or binocular microscopy if appropriate. We will safely remove the wax using special instruments, gentle suction, or wax softening drops. Over-the-counter softening drops may be recommended beforehand. Important: Do not use cotton swabs — they push wax deeper.
